The library staff members at the South and Central libraries look forward to meeting all students and assisting with their reference, research and reading needs. Everyone is encouraged to ask when needing help finding a book, navigating a subscription database, using technology or obtaining information.

- Central- 7:30am-3:30pm
- South- 7:15am-3:15pm
What do I need to do to visit the library?
Before/After School/Passing Periods
- Students can visit the library before school, after school, and during passing period without signing up ahead of time and without signing in at the library desk.
Resource Students
- Students are welcome to spend their resource time in the library to work on homework, print, checkout books, or just relax in a quiet space.
- Starting this year, students need to sign themselves up for the library instead of having a teacher do it. The sign up list can be accessed here:
- A QR code will also be posted in your resource classroom and in the library.

- Make sure to click the correct hour tab!!!
- The list opens at 6am the day of. There is a limit of 25 students per hour. Students need their ID number and MCHS email to make a reservation. Students MUST show their resource teacher the email confirmation as their pass to the library.
- If your name/ID is not in the system, email [email protected] and she will add you.
- Sign in/out of the library at the center desk.
Free Period
- Students with a free period are welcome to work in the library without signing up ahead of time. They will need to sign in/out at the library desk.
During Class
- Students sent to the library during class should bring their signed planner pass and sign in/out at the library desk. You will need to give library staff your ID or ID number.
Lunch
- South Campus- No students are allowed to eat lunch in the library
- Central- A limited number of students may eat lunch in the library with permission of the counselors and library staff. Students should speak to their counselor if this is of interest.
What do I do when I get to the library? When I need to leave?
- Please make sure you check in/out with the library staff at the center desk.
How can I check out a book?
- Students are able to check out books, materials, and equipment from the library. If you find something you like but it is currently checked out, you can always put it on hold and we will be sure to give it to you as soon as it becomes available! When checking out, make sure to have your current student ID on you!
- Ebooks/audiobooks are available here. More information is available under the Find a Book tab
How long can I check out books for?
- Books can be checked out for a three week period. If you need more time, stop by the library to renew for an additional three weeks.
What if my book is late?
- The easiest way to check if your books are late is too look inside of the back cover. The library staff will always put the due date there as a reminder.
- It's okay, it happens. your first step is to let the library staff know. You can either return the material if you are finished with it, or renew your material for 3 additional weeks
- There are no late fees for overdue books. There are only replacement fees if you lose/destroy the book.
WOW! you have so many cool books here! Where should I start?
- It's true, we have plenty of options when it comes to books, make sure to ask a library staff member for a recommendation!
Can I check out a laptop/charger?
- If you forget your laptop you can come to the library and check out a laptop for the day. If your laptop has a serious technical issue, please go the tech office.
- We do not have chargers to check out.
